Los Angeles

  • StadiumSoFi
  • Capacity70,240
  • AirportLAX 5km

Inglewood’s SoFi Stadium is the closest match venue to any major US airport — LAX is barely 5 km away. The trade-off: LA traffic. The Metro K Line connects Crenshaw to Inglewala/SoFi from June 2026, but it’s still a one-train shuttle. Stay in Inglewood for walking-distance fixtures, Santa Monica for beach-and-fixture combinations, or Downtown LA for citywide connectivity.

Hotel zones

Inglewood (walk-up), El Segundo (LAX-adjacent, Uber to stadium), Culver City (Metro to SoFi).

New York / New Jersey

  • StadiumMetLife
  • Capacity82,500
  • Final19 Jul

The Final lands here. MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, sits a 35-minute NJ Transit ride from Penn Station, Manhattan. Most travelling fans will base themselves in Manhattan and shuttle out for matches. Hoboken and Secaucus offer cheaper alternatives with a faster commute. Plan an extra day either side of the Final — flights out of EWR/JFK on July 20 will be the most expensive of the year.

Hotel zones

Manhattan Midtown (transit hub), Jersey City (cheaper, fast PATH train), Secaucus (closest to MetLife).

03
Texas, USA

Dallas

  • StadiumAT&T
  • Capacity80,000
  • Matches9

Dallas hosts the most group-stage matches of any 2026 city (nine), played at AT&T Stadium in Arlington. Critically, Arlington is not Dallas — it sits 30 km west, between Dallas and Fort Worth, with no rapid transit. The Texas Live entertainment district has the only hotels you can walk from to the stadium. DFW airport is 20 km north of Arlington; Love Field (DAL) is closer to downtown Dallas but further from the stadium.

Hotel zones

Arlington Entertainment District (walk-up), Grapevine (DFW-adjacent, mid-budget), Downtown Dallas (best for non-match days).

04
Florida, USA

Miami

  • StadiumHard Rock
  • Capacity65,326
  • AirportMIA 15km

Hard Rock Stadium sits in Miami Gardens, about 25 km north of South Beach. There’s no direct rail to the stadium — Tri-Rail gets you within 6 km, then a rideshare. Miami’s appeal is off-pitch: Brickell, Wynwood, Little Havana, the beach. Stay central, shuttle north for matches. June heat is brutal: a 4 pm match feels like training in a sauna.

Hotel zones

South Beach (vibe + transit hub), Brickell (urban core), Aventura (closest to stadium).

05
Georgia, USA

Atlanta

  • StadiumMercedes-Benz
  • Capacity71,000
  • TransitMARTA

Mercedes-Benz Stadium is one of the few US World Cup venues directly connected to the airport by rail. MARTA’s Red/Gold lines run from ATL straight to GWCC/CNN Center, a five-minute walk to the stadium. Stay near a MARTA station and you can skip rentals entirely — rare in the American South. Downtown Atlanta, Midtown and Buckhead all have direct lines.

Hotel zones

Downtown (walk to stadium), Midtown (MARTA to stadium), Buckhead (upscale, 20 min by rail).

06
Massachusetts, USA

Boston (Foxborough)

  • StadiumGillette
  • Capacity65,878
  • Distance40km

Gillette Stadium is in Foxborough, 40 km south of Boston. Commuter rail (MBTA) runs special services on match days from South Station, taking about 65 minutes. Patriot Place, the entertainment complex adjacent to the stadium, has the closest hotels but they sell out 18 months out. Most fans base in Boston proper — Back Bay, Beacon Hill, or near South Station for the train.

Hotel zones

Boston Back Bay (best base), South Boston (close to MBTA), Foxborough Patriot Place (stadium walk).

07
Washington, USA

Seattle

  • StadiumLumen Field
  • Capacity68,740
  • TransitLink Light Rail

Lumen Field is a 10-minute walk from Pioneer Square in Downtown Seattle. The Link Light Rail connects SEA airport to Pioneer Square in 38 minutes — one of the smoothest airport-to-stadium connections of any host city. Seattle is also a launchpad for the Vancouver route: Amtrak Cascades runs Seattle→Vancouver in just under 4 hours, with three departures daily.

Hotel zones

Pioneer Square (walk to stadium), Downtown (Link Rail), Capitol Hill (nightlife + transit).

San Francisco Bay

  • StadiumLevi’s
  • Capacity68,500
  • LocationSanta Clara

Levi’s Stadium is in Santa Clara, 70 km south of San Francisco. VTA light rail serves the stadium, but reaching it from SF takes 90+ minutes via Caltrain + VTA. Strategy depends on appetite: stay in SF for atmosphere and accept the commute, or stay in San Jose / Santa Clara for stadium proximity. SJC airport is closer to Levi’s than SFO.

Hotel zones

San Francisco SoMa (atmosphere), San Jose Downtown (stadium-near), Sunnyvale (mid-budget walk to VTA).

09
Missouri, USA

Kansas City

  • StadiumArrowhead
  • Capacity76,416
  • TransitDrive only

Arrowhead has the most passionate stadium atmosphere in the US — the Chiefs hold the Guinness record for crowd noise. But it’s a 15 km drive from Downtown KC with no rail. Expect heavy congestion on the I-70 corridor 3 hours before kick-off. Stay near the Power & Light District for nightlife and rideshare access, or in Independence for cheaper stadium-adjacent options.

Hotel zones

Power & Light District (nightlife base), Crown Center (rail access to airport), Independence (stadium-near, budget).

Texas, USA

Houston

  • StadiumNRG
  • Capacity72,220
  • TransitMETRORail

NRG Stadium is connected to Downtown Houston via the METRORail Red Line. Trip time is about 30 minutes and trains run frequently on match days. The Museum District, Midtown and Downtown are all on this line. Houston in June is brutally humid — hydrate from the moment you land. IAH is the main international airport; HOU (Hobby) is closer to the stadium.

Hotel zones

Downtown Houston (rail to NRG), Medical Center (closer + budget), Galleria (upscale, less stadium-friendly).

11
Pennsylvania, USA

Philadelphia

  • StadiumLincoln Financial
  • Capacity69,176
  • TransitSEPTA Broad St

The Linc sits at the southern end of Broad Street, connected to Center City Philadelphia by SEPTA’s Broad Street Line in 15 minutes. Stay anywhere in Center City and you have a direct rail link. Philadelphia is also 75 minutes by Amtrak Acela from New York and 90 minutes from Washington DC, making it a natural Northeast Corridor hub.

Hotel zones

Center City (rail to stadium), Old City (historic + nightlife), University City (cheaper, SEPTA access).

  • StadiumBMO Field

BMO Field, expanded for World Cup duty, is on Exhibition Place by Lake Ontario. The 509 streetcar from Union Station runs directly to the stadium gates. Pearson Airport (YYZ) connects to Union via the UP Express train in 25 minutes — one of the smoothest airport-to-stadium routes anywhere in the tournament. Stay near Union Station, King West, or the Entertainment District.

Hotel zones

Entertainment District (walk-up to stadium), King West (nightlife), Union Station area (airport-stadium hub).

Vancouver

  • StadiumBC Place
  • Capacity54,500

BC Place sits inside Downtown Vancouver. The Stadium-Chinatown SkyTrain station is at the door. YVR is connected to downtown by the Canada Line in 25 minutes for CAD $9.55. Vancouver pairs naturally with Seattle (4-hour Amtrak or 1-hour flight) for fans following teams across both cities. Plan rain even in summer — the retractable roof is your friend.

Hotel zones

Yaletown (walk to BC Place), Downtown West End (sea + city), Gastown (nightlife + cobblestones).

Mexico City

  • StadiumAzteca
  • Capacity87,000
  • OpenerJun 11

Estadio Azteca hosts the opening match on June 11, 2026, becoming the first stadium ever to host three World Cup tournaments. Metro Line 2 serves Estadio Azteca station, a 15-minute walk to the stadium. The city sits at 2,240 m altitude — arrive at least 48 hours before kick-off to acclimatise. Stay in Roma, Condesa or Polanco for the best base.

Hotel zones

Roma Norte (food + culture), Condesa (leafy + walkable), Polanco (luxury), Centro Histórico (heritage).

Altitude alert

At 2,240 m, you’ll feel breathless for the first 24-48 hours. Skip alcohol on arrival day, drink twice your normal water.

Guadalajara

  • StadiumEstadio Akron
  • Capacity49,850
  • LocationZapopan

Estadio Akron is technically in Zapopan, the western metro of Guadalajara. There’s no rail to the stadium — Uber, taxi or organised match shuttles. The colonial old town (Centro Histórico) is the cultural heart and where most fans should base themselves. Tequila day-trips, mariachi at Plaza de los Mariachis, and a lower-altitude alternative if Mexico City is your only other Mexican base.

Hotel zones

Centro Histórico (heritage), Chapultepec / Lafayette (nightlife), Providencia (mid-range, business).

Monterrey

  • StadiumEstadio BBVA
  • Capacity53,500
  • LocationGuadalupe

Estadio BBVA — nicknamed “El Gigante de Acero” for its steel-shrouded design — is in Guadalupe, about 12 km from Monterrey’s Centro. The mountainous backdrop of Cerro de la Silla is one of the most striking stadium views in the tournament. June temperatures regularly hit 38°C — hydrate from the airport. Stay in San Pedro Garza García (upscale) or Centro (historic).

Hotel zones

San Pedro Garza García (upscale, safe), Valle Oriente (modern), Centro Monterrey (heritage + budget).
